To ‘vinyasa' is to marry movement with breath. Modern vinyasa flow takes the form of a dynamic, freestyle like sequence that is inspired by Ashtanga roots. This class includes strength, balancing, stretching, breathing and relaxation elements. Variations of the poses are always offered to cater for your personal needs in that moment.
In Hatha yoga, we hold each pose for about five breaths. This gives students a chance to assimilate into their bodies, and really work on flexibility and mindfulness.
Dharma Yoga is a graceful, yet challenging practice based on Sri Dharma Mittra’s teachings. It is a devotional practice that emphasizes one to go deeper and experience the practice in a meditative and spiritual way. A restorative, calming and nourishing practice that promotes slow and steady movements, bringing our minds and bodies to a place of generosity. Props such as blocks, cushions and belts are used to support the bodies into a restful state.
Nourish yourself by gifting your body with the beauty of pre-natal yoga, where we work on empowering mother’s to be with a conscious birthing experience. Recommended from week 13+, the practice encompasses a balanced tapestry of breathing practises to strengthen birthing muscles, postured that increase energy and deep relaxation techniques to counter anxiety and stress. We will also work on deepening the emotional connections with your baby during this special time.
Post natal yoga classes offer a beautiful moment to bond with your newborn child, in a welcoming environment within a community of new mums. During this practice, we will pay close attention to the post-natal body, stitching the abdominal muscles back together and re-building strength within the pelvic floor. Mother’s returning back to their regular practice can also use this time to rebuilt strength and flexibility with their child by their side.
